Wow, how exciting! I've never had an experience that dramatic.

The creepiest thing for me is when it gets really dark right before something happens, do you know what I'm talking about? We call it the darkening. Its like every last little bit of light gets zapped out of the room and you've never seen darkness like it. And the weird tingly feeling you only get in a place that's haunted.

There was a place I went to in Manchester with my husband and I didn't get any tingles so I knew straight away that we wouldn't see anything that night.

Anything that scared me bad? Well... the house I grew up in was built on land where Native Americans (Cherokees, of which I am 1/8th) lived. I used to go out into the yard and find arrow heads and stuff.

Well, one summer my dad started building a shed and found a bunch of arrowheads just... on the ground together. Like they were dumped or buried in a specific place. He added them to his collection and kept on building. But after that, I never felt right in the house, and I really never felt right in the shed. The shed felt very very bad, like someone was standing in the corner glaring at you or something, even though I never saw anything. It was very oppressive. Weeks would go by where nothing would happen in the house, then there would be a spurt of activity.

One time I put a can of pop down on my desk, then ended up getting a phone call and leaving the room. When I came back to my room, the can of Pepsi was gone, leaving just the wet ring on the paper. I looked and looked, but couldn't find it. Then, a few weeks later, I was cleaning out my closet and found the can of pop on a shelf in the very back. That's not what scared me, though.

It started off with harmless pranks like that, but then it escalated into violence. A friend and I were sitting on my bed watching TV, when a really heavy 3-hole puncher went flying off my desk and landed at my feet.

Then, at night, I started to see dark fluid-like shapes circling around my bed. They were just barely tall enough to see over the edge of the bed, but they would move. It felt very menacing. I would hear footsteps in my room at night, and once even heard the footsteps step onto a plastic bag I'd left into the floor and the bag crinkled.

At the time, I was into Wicca, so I did a protection spell on my room and didn't really have any trouble after that.

@ Sarah lo I know exactly what you mean by that darkness. And doesn't it such when you get all hyped up about a place and it duds on you...
Ginger wow! Yea I would have been worried and scared too. I also used to practice and would have to do protections here and there due to overwhelming activity. I have also seen small shadows hovering around my bed... That was so unsettling. That plastic bag thing is crazy! Did you see that episode with GH and the flour they put down. But man since you had brought up the whole Donna. Thing I don't know what to believe! Lol

Yeah, the menacing stuff in my bedroom scared me way more than any time I've been touched, grabbed, or scratched. I think because I'm supposed to be safe in my bed.

Do y'all mind if I "re-open" this thread???
I've always been obsessed with the paranormal but too scared to do anything with it! I feel like my house has something in it, but not sure where to start if I wanted to figure it out. Hubby thinks I'm sensitive towards this stuff which is why I don't want to open myself up.
Thanks for sharing y'all's stories! Super cool!

If you're scared, the first thing to do is to think about whether or not you want proof your house is haunted.

If you do, you could try leaving an audio recorder running while everyone is out of the house to see if you catch any unexplainable noises or voices.

I prefer digital, because I can load the audio on my computer to save, enhance, and share. You can get them pretty cheap in lots of places. WalMart, Meijer, Staples, Target, Best Buy... Pretty much anywhere that sells electronics.

Sweet! I think it's time. I just saw something in our hallway for the dozen-th time and I'm done playing guessing games.

If you load the audio into the computer, you can send it to me for analysis and enhancement. I was the EVP specialist in our group.

Let me know. If you want me to, I'll PM you my email address.
