Lump in armpit during pregnancy - has gone right down but now boob hurts??

Quite a way into my pregnancy I realised I had a hardish lump on the outer edge of my armpit (towards the back) which wibbled about a bit if I poked it around. It didn't hurt but felt a bit weird.

I know that this can be caused by milk ducts etc so I thought I'd wait till after the baby was born before getting it checked out.

My LO was born two weeks ago, and today I noticed that the lump has gone right down to the point where its not really there. However, my armpit feels more achy now and yesterday my boob on that side started really hurting, right through the nipple.

I had a bit of similar pain in the other boob a few days ago which was because I had stopped BF-ing and expressing. A bit of massage and the pain went away.

I was wondering if the lump in my armpit was a blockage which has now worked its way through to my boob and will disappear gradually like the other one did.

Anyone had a similar issue?

Ta

I had a lump which I thought was a blockage from milk. It turned out that it was a cyst that had to be drained. The pain could be cyst pressing on nerves or something. I would go and get it checked at the doctors. I was referred to the breast clinic at the hospital for an ultrasound. I wouldnt think its anything to worry about but best to get it checked out.

Thank you xx

Bump!

Any other experiences?

The lump has definitely gone right down and the tenderness is nearer in towards my boob and a lot lower down from where the lump was. My boob is less painful today (yay!)

I also had a lump when pregnant it came last July and I gave birth in oct. It started to go just after I gave birth. Docs think it was a cyst that has broken down. I convinced myself it was really bad !!

I also had a lump and like you i convinced myself it was something terrible. The lump i had was on the side of my left breast close to skin, pea sized, hard and didnt move much. I was petrified so i went to gp at 37 weeks pregnant and was examined. I was told it was probs just a blocked milk duct or cyst and the lump did go away soon after giving birth. Phew!!

Thanks ladies, that seems to be what is happening so I'll keep a close eye on it and hopefully all symptoms will vanish!
