After a c-section, the doctors check up.

Got mine through for 1st July - I thought they were supposed to be 6 weeks after to give the bleeding time to stop?
Not being funny but I don't think I could handle an internal right now especially still bleeding.

Or is it more to do with the wound?

It does say full post birth check. I hate it when I dont know what to expect with these things.

My first appointment after my c-section they only checked my wound (I had my first AF at that time but they didn't ask me to check anything else anyway).

Honestly I have not had an internal yet
I need to make an appointment for one ASAP, as I go for an IUD on July 9th lol

I had my check up last week following a section and all the Dr did was ask how I'm feeling.... He didn't even know I'd had a section.

It was my MW who was checking my wound and the healing and nobody has asked to see it since she discharged us.

They probably wont give you an internal as nothing happened in that area :-)

They generally check your scar, ask how its feeling, how you're feeling inside, what the bleedings been like etc. They might ask you to fill out a form on Postnatal Depression too.

Then they ask heaps of questions about the baby. I got the impression it was more for the baby than it was for me tbh

They're not allowed to give you a smear test until 3 months after the baby. They told me i would be having one but my midwife queried it.

Just thought I'd update this.

Went for my appointment and was just asked what the midwife had asked - how is wound, boobs, mood. Didnt get any checks at all - bit of a waste of time really.
She said the hospital hadn't sent anything about me either.

So no one has checked my wound since I got the staples out.
