Always cramping

I had a bleed about 3 weeks PP. I figured it was my period coming back but since then I've not had another and I'm now 5 months PP. However, I'm cramping all the time, I feel like I always have period pain but I'm not bleeding. I also seem to have a lot of CM. It's like I'm having a period but with no blood. Anyone else recently given birth and have this?

This morning I passed a clot when I went to the toilet. Anybody any experience of this? My placenta was thoroughly checked after birth so it's not retained product (I had this with my first birth resulting in an evacuation and two blood transfusions).

I'm not sure sweetie, I would probably see your GP about it if you don't come on now

I've no experience about the clot or CM but I always have lots of cramping, it feels like my body is trying to have a period but I don't have one (because I'm still bfing) my periods don't come back til I finish bfing so and I will have these period like cramps til then (they are not constant) I've spoken to the doc before and she said it was normal, like my body having a period but not (if that makes any sense at all!?) this happened when I bf'd the girls as well, I 'think' it's a bit more painful this time, but so far everything has been worse/more painful with this last pregnancy/after birth xx

it could be your body trying to repair muscle maybe-after I had Bert I discovered I had torn stomach muscles and that sounds like the way it felt when it was getting better-as for the bleed, were you doing too much maybe when you started bleeding again? bleeding can stop and start a few times, although coupled with the cramps I can understand why you're worried.

hope things settle down soon

Sorry I have no experience but think it might be a good idea to go along to the GP to get it checked out xxx

I get this too. Lots of cramping, cm and that feeling of my period is imminent. It comes and goes. I'm breastfeeding as well, and usually don't get my first period until baby is almost a year old.

Having said that, I don't think passing a clot is normal 5 months pp. I would go and have that checked out. I too, like you, have had retained placenta after my first birth. But it wasn't part of the original, whole, intact placenta. It was an extra lob that developed (reasons is complicated and irrelevant to this discussion). Dr thought the lob was reabsorbed before birth, but I believe it was that lob that was retained at birth. I passed lots of clots before being diagnosed. Do you have any fever at all?

Thank you. No I don't really feel feverish but that sounds horrible, I hope you were ok
