Keeping stitches clean

How is everyone keeping their stiches clean after going to the toilet? I'm worried - sorry tmi that I'm not taking everything away after going to the toilet as in dabbing rather than wiping - wiping hurts. I'm having a soak in the bath as suggested by my midwife, but I'm really worried. Also I have a check with the midwife tomorrow and I want to be clean down there. If I wash with warm water what should I use?

did they give you a peri bottle? it's a bottle that you would fill with warm water and then use it to clean yourself by squirting with the bottle....my sister was told to do that for her stitches.

i'm sure the bath is OK, just be gentle on yourself and no irritating soaps

Just as PP said, I was given a bottle to fill with warm water and squirt there after to keep everything clean. I actually squirt it WHILE I pee to keep it from stinging

If you weren't given a bottle, a cup or something may work?
