3rd degree tear - how long to heal?

It's only been two weeks but I expected to feel better than this by now. I'm just not very mobile and can't walk too far. My painkillers ran out a few days ago so I'm popping ibuprofen and paracetamol all day long. When will it get better??

Yup, oh it takes me back! Plenty of salt baths! I had a 3rd degree tear an episi and other grazes i was in theatre for 2 hours after having lo
i didnt feel i could walk for about 2 months (round the shops etc) but even then i still took painkillers, no joke i rattled! Lol
the stitches in your bum take an extra 2-3 weeks to desolves as theyre holding together muscle rather than tissue my gyne said at about 8-10 weeks all stitches should be completely gone, my last one came away 22 weeks pp!! Make sure you listen to your body if youre in pain go to the docs! 3rd degree tears are bleugh but yourenot alone hunny! Make sure youre resting when you can too! Xxx

Thanks, this sounds more like what I'm feeling, although I think I was only in theatre for an hour, so fingers crossed I'll heal a little quicker than that. I might go to the docs and sort out some more painkillers as the health visitor advised that being able to walk about would help

When was it last checked? I had a 2nd degree tear and epis and the stitches went on both and they got infected- the pain was unbearable, but now the infections cleared and I'm not too bad with it anymore. It's probably just normal pain, but I'd get someone to check it just to be sure x

I had an episiotomy and 3rd degree tear and 12 weeks later and I still feel some soreness in one spot, I also feel like I haven't been stitched up enough (not nice).
