How soon. Sex after episiotomy

Just wondering how long it was after having an episiotomy in labour that you girls had sex.
The area looks like it has healed, the stitches have dissolved, i no longer feel sore and my bleeding has now stopped.
I feel ready for sex im just scared that i will split open again.

I wanna say it depends on how much they've cut, so you should check with your Dr. But if you feel you might be ready to try, just use LOADS of lube!

i waited until id had my 6wk check just to be on the safe side. not that the dr checked my stitches or anything but wanted to make sure i had contraception sorted etc...

well i bought the lube from asda last night

and i have been on the pill for over a week so we will be trying tonight. Must admit i feel very nervous

We did it 3 weeks pp. I had one stitch, no episiotomy, and several skidmarks. (stretches of skin that pulled open at the surface but didn't tear.)

I had a full episiotomy with my first child, and I can say that the skidmarks hurt worse than a tear or episiotomy. But they also seemed to heal a bit faster so

i tried at five weeks and it hurt so bad i had to stop. i tried again at 6 weeks and i just about managed it. My episiostomy still aches tho.

we tried last nite and it was great, a bit sore initially but we used loads and loads of lube and it was fine
