Don't think things are quite right down there :(

Ok so I'm 7 weeks pp and I've got a few small niggly things that just dont seem right but can't figure it out. When I go for a wee it's fine but I don't feel like I'm emptying my bladder properly. Also, since I gave birth I've had a strange odour when I wee, really sorry for tmi but I could really use some advice. I thought it was my lochia but that has stopped now so I think it's my urine. I'm getting quite worried

It could be a bladder infection, I've had them with a strange smell before so might be worth getting it checked by the Dr. If it is a bladder infection then it might be stopping you from emptying properly. Try double voiding - go for a wee as normal then when you think you're done, stand up for 10 seconds or so then sit down and see if you can pass any more.

Not being able to empty your bladder properly after birth is something that happens sometimes even without an infection and just takes a while to go back to normal. Just make sure you drink plenty and pee when you feel the need. Hopefully it's just a simple infection that's easily sorted with antibiotics and drinking plenty

As firefly says it could be an infection of the bladder or a simple UTI that could be ruled out by the doctor.

I have problems with emptying my bladder but I have had bladder issues before pregnancy.. however if this is new then it may just be a postpartum pelvic floor thing, it takes a while for our bodies to go back to normal and 7 weeks is still early days I guess!

If the smell worries you and you think you have an infection it won't hurt to get checked out - they'll be able to help you with some antibiotics or whatever and you'll be feeling better in no time
