THEN, I started watching what I ate much more and slowly working my gym routine up more and more... I'm pretty much back to where I was excercise wise pre-baby (not quit, but close). I still have 10lbs to lose... but really, the first 8lbs weren't that bad to lose... easier than I thought it would be once I got going and motivated

You'll get there hun... just imagine it and stay focused. I even had a time here and there I was weak and broke and ate horrible... LOL... but still lost weight overall. These last 10lbs are going to be a pain though I'm sure... aren't they always?!

Best of luck- and don't worry if you have to wear your maternity pants for a bit... they are certainly more comfy! I didn't like squeezing into my size 10 and feeling my belly fat hang over... LOL... but each week they fit better and better! We can do this!
thanks seoj, this is such a great post. we will get there! i too cut my self slack but now i am getting serious about what i eat, since i can't workout, i don't burn nearly as many calories as i use to! so i really need to watch it. this week, so far, i have been good.

wow!!! 40lbs down in 2 weeks, that is amazing! and huge boobs is an awesome reason to wear your mat tops!

My baby is almost 4 weeks old, and my weight keeps going up and down by 20 pounds!!!!!!! It's ridiculous. My hips are so wide, and I still have a belly... I'm with you; I hope I'm able to go back to wearing normal clothes again soon.

I can wear my prepregnancy jeans, but they don't fit the same. My belly has a long way to being flat(ish). I'm 6 weeks pp, and I gained 35lbs and have lost all but 10 of that. I joined a gym and go 3-4 times a week, and I'm being super careful about what I eat. It sucks! I got spoiled on eating whatever I wanted for 9 months. I need to keep at it or I won't be wearing shorts this summer, nevermind a bathing suit!

I was back in my regular clothes after birth, but I still love wearing my maternity jeans cause they are comfy! They are not the belly band ones. The look like regualr jeans and have a little stretch on the hips of them that you can't even see.

I am 10 weeks pp and still wearing maternity jeans. I have 10 pnds left to lose and a couple prepreg pants fit me, but my jeans were tight and fitted when I got pg, so they are not going to fit until I lose this 10 pnds.

Im still in maternity bottoms mostly and I am 4 weeks down the line..

My normal clothes fit sort of they fasten but I have a bit of an jelly muffin top..... LOL I had a section this time and I am waiting for my post natal check before I do any exercising... and working on fitting into normal clothes.
My wound is still quite sore and tender and I know when I have had a busy day as I feel abit achey.....

Saying that tho I am in normal tops this time... theres a bonus!

I had my baby about a week and half ago and I am wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes now. I was able to wear most of my pre-pregnancy pants while pregnant and now I am able to fit into most of my shirts. I have noticed each day my stomach seems to get smaller and smaller.

Wow! I am so jealous of some of you!

I'm not sure how much weight I gained as had pre-eclampsia so lots was swelling and water, but now 7wks (sigh) tomorrow, I need to lose about 28lbs (2 stone); but my pre-pregnancy weight was about 14lbs-20lbs lighter. I am seeing the ob/gyn on Monday for a final check and will ask if I can start on the exercise bike again -- I lost 3-4 stone (40-50lbs) in 2010 by healthy (but boring) eating (we were going to do IVF, but got pregnant naturally) so guess, Monday is the 'return' to normal life....

sigh -- that said, I love my pregnancy leggings (I used to live in skirts), which I wear in black (cropped) with black loafers and a little cardigan (and comfty t-shirt underneath), and feel like Audrey Hepburn (think I look more like Marlon Brando in the later years, tho), but sometimes I do catch a look at myself and think that I look okay) -- tried on my pre-pregnancy clothes, but are still too tight in the breasts....

best wishes
