how long does 'milk' continue post-baby and not breastfeeding?

I am still getting a wee bit of milk coming through (wearing a bra and pads to stop) 3wks post-baby -- I'm not breastfeeding, but formula feeding, but am still getting 'spots' of milk whenever LO is on the bottle?

any ideas of what I can do, aside from wearing a bra with 'pads' to stop milk?

thanks!

I ff my last baby and had something like this happen. My mw at the time said to drink lots of fizzy drinks like lemonade as it dries your milk up. I did this and had no more issues a day or so after drinking tons of it.

Xx

I drink loads of sparkling water, but am willing to try anything as whenever LO turns his head towards my breast (and to be fair, my OH as well), my breast begins to leak -- he LOVES his bottle, so it must be something very instinctive on my body's part!

best wishes

Mine never even fully came in. I could feel it start to one day, but we didn't mess with them at all (though hubby wanted to) and it went away on it's own. They wouldn't prescribe the meds to stop it either.

I think that's just coincidence to be honest, fizzy drinks don't contain anything that would dry up your milk- in fact some studies show caffeinated fizzy drinks can increase milk supply. Taking cold remedies that contain decongestant is proven to help though, as is drinking large amounts of peppermint tea xx

The medicine you take for a cold and congestion can dry your milk up

also the combined BC pill can dry milk up.this is why they do not recommend it to breastfeeding mothers right?
