I am a failure :'((

This post is also in 'confessional thread' but after posting it, I feel it belongs here...

Feel like the worlds worst mum, lo is teething, it seems to be going on forever! From the minute he is up I can't wait for him to go down for a nap he is Whiney and clingy and I feel so much better when I'm at work ( even took on 2 jobs so I spend more time away from him) :'( I miss him like crazy but as soon as he whinges that's it! I'm on medication now which helps but it just seems every single bloody day!!! We never go through the whole day where it's been a fab day it's always crappy days . Oh suggests giving lo to mil but I do a lot when im at work and nursey of course but I can't just give him away every time he gets Whiney . I dont want to wish his life away as i know i cant get this time back but i dont want it back i hate it i cant wait till hes 7-8 yrs old :'( what am I going to do I feel like I'm not cut out for this anymore :'(

aww you aren't a failure
firstly, you aren't alone - you'd have to be a bloody saint to not feel like that with a teething child!
Have you tried just putting him in his pram and walking when he whinges? walk him to a park, or round a supermarket, anything so you aren't home alone listening to the whining!
I used to take my ipod and use 1 side of the headphones so i could drown out some of the tears (cruel mummy!). Turn up and mtv and sing and dance at him, be silly and try to let off some steam!
does he have a favourite snack? I was forever throwing bits of cheese at Tabitha when she was grumping just to get some peace and quiet!
And of course you can let MIL have him, she would love to have him for a morning or something. Have you tried bickipegs for him to gnaw on?
Does he have a daily routine, ie, my LO is 13 months and still naps twice a day... if he isn't getting enough sleep that could make him worse, could you snuggle him in bed with you if he isn't settling himself for a sleep?
Hope you feel a bit better soon

You are definitely not a failure! We all feel like that. More often than not when LO's are going through teething etc. Is he having calpol or something like that? That was pretty much all that helped my LO
