2WW was bad enough now a 3WW until first scan...how to survive?

Hi everyone,
TTC #1 for 2 years with 2 miscarriages sept 2013 and March 2014 at 5 and 11 weeks. Since the miscarriages I now have a regular cycle even though PCOS and used to be 23-64 days. We have actually conceived first month trying this time, used pressed and OPKs.

I got a at 11 DPO (very faint) and confirmed today at 13DPO

I have a scan 27th August! I thought the 2 WW was bad but how will I get through the next 3 weeks???
I feel like my husband and I are so scared we almost want to pretend it's not happening (at least until we see a heartbeat!) but on the other hand I'm constantly reminded I'm pregnant by my diabetes ( have lots of hypos and have to measure out all my food etc to control blood sugars)

1. What tactic do you use to get through the wait?
2. Do you and your partner talk about being pregnant or try not to get hopes up until after the scan?

I feel like I will go crazy by the time I reach the scan!
Hellllppppp meeeeeee!
Laura x

Hi Laura, sorry for your losses. Congrats on this new pregnancy. The waiting IS torturous! I am not doing a very good job of being patient, but I go back to work teaching kindergarten soon, and that will keep me busy. I still have this pregnancy brain fog too, where despite what I am doing I am not focused on the task at hand, just thinking about being pregnant my husband and I talk about the pregnancy all the time, but we are still cautious, knowing despite all we hope for, the outcome is out of our hands. Here's wishing you a healthy happy pregnancy and that the time flies by!

Hey Daisypetals, thanks for the reply, I also go back to work in a kindergarten in a few weeks. I had to give up my job last pregnancy as here in Switzerland they test for cytomegalovirus and said I'm not immune! It's just a harmless childhood virus that seems like a cold but is very harmful if u catch it in pregnancy. Thing is they don't even test for it in England (I'm English) and on balance I'm going to go against their advise this time as i just can't be out of work! Being off for 5 months has Been mental torture! The second and third opinions iv sought said it was ridiculous they made me give up work and that it's so unlikely I will catch it! Typical that iv just found out I'm pregnant again as they have found me more hours!
Where are u based? Do they make you take extra precautions when pregnant if working in a kindergarten?
Hubby is away right now so no one knows and feel like this pregnancy isn't real yet!
Have you got a scan date booked in?
Laura x
