Folic Acid

Feel terrible
I've not been taking my folic acid as regularly as I should. I just forget to - I'm the same if I ever get antibiotics from the doc I just forget to take them after a few days.
Anyone got any ideas of how I can remind myself to take it. I'm eleven weeks and have taken it probably not even ten times since I had my pregnancy confirmed. If the baby is unwell when he/she is born I'll feel guilty forever. Also is it true you only take it up until twelve weeks?

Thanks

xx

Hey love don't give yourself a hard time - I struggled with remembering to take mine sometimes too. And my sister gave me some pregnacare tablets with omega 3 which I was taking for almost 2 weeks before I realised that I was only taking the cod liver oil tablets and I was supposed to have one from each strip in the box!!!

And yes, you only need to take folic acid until you are 12 weeks.

For the next week I'm just going to try really hard to remember to take them!

Don't worry hun, I was pretty much the same as you. Touch wood so far after my 20 week scan my baby seems totally fine, I'm sure yours will be too.

Folic acid is found in a lot of foods as well, like cereals, bread, fruit and vegetables, so if you have been eating a healthy diet I'm sure you will be OK. xx
