Bottles question!

I have a very strong feeling I won't be able to breastfeed. I have had 2 operations on my breasts before due to lumps and I was told after the second that because of the position it will be harder to breastfeed. I will give it a go but I am pretty sure it is not going to work out. So I am looking at getting some tommee tippee bottles. I never realised how many types there are! I am a first time Mum so excuse some of the silly questions!

I am going to get the closer to nature ones but what sizes will be more useful 150ml or 260ml?

Should I get the normal bottles or the anti colic or a mixture?

Which teat flow speed should I get thick, slow, med, fast or variflow?

Should I get anti colic teats as well as anti colic bottles or just one or the other or none?

How many bottles will I need?

i think the small ones came with slow teats nd the bigger ones with fast teats.
i have bought a variety of different teats - its all trial nd error.
i do intend on breastfeeding hence only havin 4 150ml bottles... i may need more if i can't bf.

I've had three breast lumps removed hun - 1 was right behind my nipple, so I have some scarring all the way across it it, and the other two were by the milk ducts. I was also told breastfeeding may be a problem, but we did it for 12 months

I never bothered with the smaller bottles, they are soon drinking more than 4oz of formula. Also the first few weeks, you will probably just use slow flow teats, but once they are a few weeks old and a bit more hungrier I found the variable flow teats ( with the cross slit ) are the best.

IMO the anti-colic teats don't stop colic!! I think if baby's going to get it, you can't stop it. All mine went through a few weeks where there was a lot of crying on an evening. I tried cooled boiled water, infacol, colief and tbh don't think any of them helped much

I hope breastfeeding does work out for you xx

We found no anti colic bottles worked apart from the Dr Browns ones so I would just get the regular TT ones for now.

Get the bigger bottles. The smaller ones are a waste of time - they drink more than that it a matter of weeks. Mine have always sat in the cupboard unused.
Also, keep the teat the bottles come with (will prob be slow flow ones), and if you see your LO struggling to get more out a few weeks after hes born, get the medium flow ones, but you'll probably be ok with the ones they come with.
We used the closer to nature ones last time, and they are great.
