Stocking up on things before baby comes.

I want to start buying things I'll need to use a lot before baby is here so I have a nice stock of them for when he comes.

So far I can only think of buying a pack or two of diapers a week. Anything else I should think of buying? I'm trying to stay away from buying clothes just yet.

I've stocked up on wipes more than nappies- until I know which brand of nappies I want to stick with...

wet wipes will always come in, even for cleaning faces, hands etc when we're out x

i dont see the point. Surely you'll still be doing a food shop every week anyway Its not as if you dont go shopping for 6 months.

I wouldn't buy too many nappies, you don't know what size your baby will be in and for how long!

Just to be akward I would also avoid buying too many wipes in advance as we found that certain brands gave Abigail eczma. We actually didn't use wipes at all for about the first 6 months unless we were out as she had sensitive skin. We did use an awful lot of cotton wool thought so that would have been useful to stock up on.

i only got nappies with vouchers (like, free packs, or 1 off & bought when asda / sainsburys had a baby event etc), so only spent a few pounds & had about 10 packs of nappies before bella was here.
we had clothes all sorted for the first 6 months.
i had several packs of wipes (again from offers / vouchers), i didn't need to buy any until she was 6 months old (i stockpiled on cotton wool as we used cotton wool & water until she was 12 weeks).
xx

In addition to diapers and wipes, we've also gotten a supply of paper plates, plastic silverware and disposable cups- cutting down on the amount of dishes to do at least in the first month while we adjust to these little ones

Rather than stocking up on diapers and wipes, I bought gift cards every payday for stores that sell baby supplies. I bought a few packs of diapers, each a different brand, so I have some to try when we bring him home. Then I can use the gift cards to buy the brand we end up using.
