For those who were on BCP

Hello all. popping in here from TTC. Feeling a bit gloomy as on CD32 with no ovulation yet, first month after BCP.

So, how long did it take you to get your cycle back, and how long to get you BFP?

I went off mine in April, had one REALLY long cycle (51 days), then two normal-ish shorter cycles (one 32 days and the other 35 days), and I got pregnant in August on day 25 of my fourth cycle off BCP. I wasn't TTC though, so it's possible I could've conceived earlier had I wanted to.

When I was TTC my son, it took 5 months after BCP to get pregnant. I was charting right from the start, and it looks like my first cycle was a bit crazy (late ovulation, short luteal phase, abnormally low temps), but they were pretty normal after that. Good luck!

I went off BCP at the end of July. I didn't have a period at all in August so I started fertilaid at the beginning of september to regularize me. I got my period a few days after starting and conceived in september - not sure when I ovulated, it wasn't on CD 14 though, it was later. We DTD every day in September to make sure we were covered.

I got my first period about 31-32 days after my last pack of pills and it stayed as a 31 day cycle for a few months, then I got my BFP. Don't despair! Just keep DTD as often as you can

I went off bcp Oct 2010 and didn't get my bfp until Sept 17th 2011. That was 11 cycles for me. My cycle lengths were all over the place for about 6 months before averaging out to about 33 days. Some were really short some long ranging from 25-36 days. My period length never went back to normal tho. It got super short about 3 days altho two different cycles were 1 day. i was used to 5 days.

I stopped the nuva ring at the end of July. First cycle took about 35 days, I didnt get regular till October and now they are 26 to 27 days.
This is my first month trying.

I had two periods off the pill before conceiving. My cycle was a little longer than while on the pill (32 days instead of 28), but it came right away the next month.

Thanks for all the replies. It's good to hear the success stories!

I had long irregular cycles before, so not sure if my body is back to whatever is 'normal' for me. Hopefully I'll be in here by next Christmas.

My first cycle off bcp was the same as my pre-pill cycles. Then it got really dodgy from there! 2nd cycle was 73 days long, the next 63, the next 53 then I had a couple of 40- odd day cycles before falling pregnant and finding out on CD 73! I worked out that I must have ovulated on about CD 54- ish, which is insane! So after a year my cycles hadn't sorted themselves out but I did fall pregnant and am now expecting a baby girl in time for Christmas!
