I find it hard to believe, but I've watched "I didn't know I was pregnant" loads of times, some women only put on a few lbs and don't get symptoms or even feel kicks, and dont realise they are pregnant til they are in labour. mental!

I find this extremely hard to believe....you would feel the baby kick at some point....if your baby didnt kick at all during your entire pregnancy then obviously something would be wrong...

I read recently about this. There's a medical condition that exists where a woman's body will hide the pregnancy. The baby will develop in a way that doesn't create a large belly, the woman still has her periods, etc. No one knows for sure why it happens.

hi i was working with the woman she is receptionist 27 yo.she didnt knew she was pregnant she was fat and all she had no symptoms except back ache.she was complaining and complaining on her back pains and as we worked in hospital she got herself doctor appointment she has been examined and they said that it might be one of her internal organs not back send her for ultrasound which uncover that she is 37 weeks pregnant.its hard to believe but is possible.i heard when placenta is big is working like cushion so they wont feel baby kick and if you dont know and you dont think you pregnant you live in denial so even if baby kick u might thing thats your guts turning.

I really do not understand how you can not know so late on. I mean, I can maybe grasp not knowing for a few months, maybe even well into second tri [as it took me a while to show properly but this is my first] but 38 weeks?!?! I am 38 weeks and I am so huge and whale like, I feel baby all the time...especially hiccups.
I am sure there are some women who genuinely do not know but I think the % of women who truly do not know compared to the women who like drama is pretty damn small on the scale of things.

It is possible Hun, a friend of mine went to hospital with crippling backache after lifting at work and was told she was in labour. She didn't know she was pregnant....

She hadn't gained any weight at all and had periods and no symptoms, she also carried on drinking and smoking the whole time. She was that traumatised she didn't tell anyone but her best friend for 2 weeks bless her.

So it does happen just not often I would say xx

It's impossible to not know imo. If anything, I think it's 99% stupidity if you really didn't know. But between getting huge, fetal movements, BH, the heartburn - how can you NOT know?!

maybe she knew how you and other people would react and hid it because of that. Maybe she is just saying she didn't know to avoid questions as to why she didn't tell. This may well have been a planned, or at least wanted pregnancy and she can't be judged on age at all. I'd say try and be supportive. She either wanted this and was worried about reactions, or sincerely didn't know. Either way she will need your support more than your judgement.
