Can I predict the size/weight of this baby based on my last??

Well? How much did your first and subsequent babies weigh? Were they early/ late/ on time?

My first baby (20 months ago) was a 9lb 14oz boy. This baby is a girl and so I'm hoping she might be a touch smaller... I'd love her to be about 8lb (or maybe a bit less).
What do you think?

I'm hoping for the same thing ie a smaller baby than my last as it was a difficult birth. My mw said second babes r normally bigger but not always, in my green book they have plotted this babys fundal height against my ds birth weight so IMO it must b related somehow?!? X

First was born on the due day and was 8Ibs 13 oz
Second was a week late and was 8Ibs
Third was a week early and was 5Ibs 13 oz

So in my experience......NO

Everyone says they get bigger. In my experience when you have toddlers and children you are on your feet more, you have less time to sit around contemplating baby, so they actually get smaller and easier to deliver. I have known many women who have had whoppers for the first and smaller subsequent babies.

My smallest is now 2cm taller than his brother was at the same age!!

I've heard people say it goes both ways. Sometimes they'll say second babies are bigger, others smaller. Like everything else with pregnancy I'm of the opinion that it's more dependent on the individual than anything else.

My daughter was two weeks overdue and weighed 7lbs 8oz when born.

I don't know from my own experience, but going from my mom (Oh please Lord don't let me have babies as big as my mom had!), her first was 9 lbs 11ounces (that was me). My brother born after me was over 11lbs. My 2nd brother was 10 lbs. The 3'rd brother was also 10 lbs, and my youngest brother was the smallest at 9 lbs 7 ounces.

My son was 9 days late and weighed 7.2
My daughter came on her due date and was 7.1
I'm thinking baby number 3 will be around the same ( I hope!)
