So I've been having really bad back pains, and I thought it was just because I look 5 months pregnant at just over 8 weeks, so figured it was extra weight or whatever. So last week I was rubbing my back and I noticed it was really tender in this one spot just at the top of my butt crack. So I went to touch it, which KILLED and I noticed a lump. I had my regular visit with dr about my pregnancy yesterday so I had her take a look and she's pretty sure it's a cyst- getting an ultrasound tomorrow for it. It's getting soooo painful especially sitting down, so I'm worried it will have to be removed. Has anyone had surgery while pregnant? How did they do it?
Depending on what it is, they may just give local anesthetic and drain it. I've known many people who have had cysts removed (not pregnant though) and felt much better after. I would want to get it addressed now before you get big which would likely make it worse. I hope things work out and you feel better soon!
Thanks ladies! My appt today didn't sound promising...not even sure it's a cyst anymore. US tech had to bring in radiologist, ans she asked me questions like 'you only just started feeling pain there?' and 'have you had any trauma to that area?' and then they both kept talking about how there's a long tract, whatever that means! Definitely makes me worried. They told me my doctor will call me 'with results shortly', which they never say....so that has me worried, too.
