How do you know how far along you are?

Hi everyone! This is my first post, although I've been reading the forum for a couple of months. I'm really excited to be expecting our first baby. I'm still confused on how to guess how far along I am right now though. Can you help me?

If I think we got pregnant from having sex on 7/4/12, do I count from that date or do I add two weeks before the conception date to figure how far along I am?

I couldn't predict ovulation because my cycle is irregular. I actually never had a period after stopping birth control pills, so Day 1 of my cycle was 5/8/12, that's why I'm confused in calculating how far along I am right now. I noticed really sore boobies starting on 7/13/12 and then BFP when I tested on 7/18/12. I have my first appt and scan on 8/16/12 to date the pregnancy, but until then I'm really not sure how to estimate my due date. Thanks!

Thanks onemorebabe, but I can't use those calculators because my cycle is irregular. I'm trying to guess based on conception date until I get my first scan.

If you only had sex on that date then it is safe to say that you conceived within a few days of that date so yes, you would add two weeks onto that xxx

based on conception date you should add around 2 weeks.. Thats the norm there is a 2 week period of time in the 40 week pregnancy that your are not even really pregnant but they count it as the first 2 weeks..

I am pretty sure I felt implantation cramps 2 weeks before I got my bfp.. that was a month ago.. Now I am concidered 6 weeks( cycly day 1 on june 24th) but probably conceved between the 7 and the 11of july (when I felt implantation cramps) got my BFP on the 19th ..

So if you know the conception or implantation date.. Add 2 weeks and you will atleast be close..until you get a scan and they give you a more accurate date..

Thanks that's what I needed to know! I didn't only have sex on that date, but kind of think that's when it happened because of other symptoms... I'm excited to see what the scan says.
