Missed miscarriage and HCG levels / +ve test

The very few pg symptoms ( slight nausea, tiredness)i had seem to have disappeared over last week, which is causing me some real concerns. I have my dating scan on 28th september which seems ages away, so called the MW this morningandshe said there is no opportunity to bring it forward.

I am worried about having a missed.miscarriage (never had a MC before). Her advice was to get a blood test at gp and take another at home pregnancy test.

However surely with a MMC HCG levels.would.still be high enough t.register a false positive on a at home.test?. Does anyone had any experience please?

with my mmc baby never really developed but the sac continued.
so we saw a very faint yolk but no baby ever...and an oversized sac. by the last scan the yolk had collapsed.
my tests stayed positive
HCG bloods are good,as the hormones rise but dont double...which can indicate. only a pregnancy test can suggest a complete miscarriage or a chemical pregnancy which can only occur at the very start xxx

You could just be more ahead than you thought like around 10 wks. Because around that tome the placenta kucks in your symptoms mostly subside.

Just because you aren't having a lot of symptoms it doesn't mean anything. I had EVERY symptom with my mmc. I was literally throwing up at least once a day, usually more, my boobs were sore, I would walk to the mail box and have to take a nap. Also my hcg levels kept doublinig and were high so no a hpt wouldn't tell you if you've had a mmc. We saw the baby at 6 weeks just fine but at 9 weeks everything was measuring perfect except the baby and there was no hb. I would seriously just try not to worry about that. Yes its is everyones fear but the worry isn't going to do you or the baby good.

Have you thought about buying a doppler? Im so glad i bought one, i have been terrified something was going to go wrong from the start, so i paid for a private scan at 7wks which only kept me sane for a week, then i bought the doppler and have been listening to heartbeat since 9wks. Ive got the sonoline b, its really good. Ive got my 12wk scan on friday, i am slightly nervous but the doppler has kept me sane.

Symptoms come and go all the time but if you want to be certain then you should do a hcg test with your DR and do a follow up in 2 days to see if the levels are doubeling.

your midwives advice is rubbish. a pregnancy test will be positive no matter if you have had a miscarriage or you are still pregnant.

book yourself a scan at a private scan it costs between 50-100 - you cant put a price on reassurance.

Good luck x
