Positive test at home, negative at doctor's

Anyone had this happen before? I went to my doctor's today to confirm my pregnancy (I figure I'm 4w, 4d) but my urine test came back negative! I had to laugh, as I had just done a FRER that morning which showed my strongest positive yet, so my doctor sent me for a blood test instead. He believed me, but said they needed to have the positive result down to move things ahead...he'll call me Sunday with the results. Kind of a pain in the ass, but kind of funny too. Just wondering if any of you have had something similar?

They dont do urine tests at my drs so only had blood work. Good luck on your results!
Have heard others say though that drs tests arent as good as frer so maybe just too early for results on your dr's urine test.

Im pretty sure the FRER are more sensitive and as you are newly pregnant, the hormone might not be strong enough to show up on a docs test g'luck! x

I sorta had this, I got a faint but visible positive result on a cheapo home test , the same kind i used with my 1st. Anyhoo when i saw the doc she tested my pee & told me her line was " to faint " to say i was positively preg even though you could clearly see 2 lines just 1 was faint, when i asked do you get a negative positive she said no..so i just stood there stunned at her contradicting herself daft woman.. She marked it on the system it was faint but not confirmed ! I was alittle mad to say the least, She wanted me to retest a week later ! Erm hell no , 2 days later i did another slightly more expensive test and whammo a more definate positive result. Which is still very clear now 6wks later.

Docs also use the cheapo sticks too which dont pick up the hormone at low levels tut

That is what happened tome.. my urine was just so diluted because I drank so much water they sent me for a blood test. They should get results on the pregnancy with in an hour though.

I'm not too worried about it, really. My doc figured their tests didn't measure low levels of hcg like FRERs do. I did a cheap internet a few days ago and didn't get a positive either, so I wasn't really too surprised to get the neg at the doc's. You'd think they'd use a better quality brand though!

Did you use first morning urine for your test at the docs? That can sometimes make a difference to the result as there isnt so much of the hcg present.
My doc didnt bother confirming it, as i'd done 4 of the clearblue digis and got all the same results!
Hope you get your results soon

It happened to me too. I had 4-5 positive home pregnancy tests including the digital one but I had a negative result at the doctors! I was puzzled but the doctor said he would go by my own pregnancy tests and even offered a blood test to confirm it.

So I wouldn't worry too much about it!
