I have a nipple piercing and an HCH. I read that the nipple one can likely stay (and be removed for BF), but I assume the HCH will def have to come out much earlier than that. Anyone else have either piercing?
I've had both for a while, but I wouldn't be sad to lose either.
I had both nipples done before I got pregnant. I think I look them out around 26 weeks just to make sure they healed before baby came. I didn't want to have to pull them out very time. Maybe ask your doc about your others. It might not need to be taken out till your in labor.
Most hospitals require all piercings be removed during labor, however they can be placed back in afterward. As far as I know, (other mom's with previous children please correct me if I'm wrong!) we won't change too much down there until birth. I believe you're safe to keep it in until it feels uncomfortable
I had a VCH and both outer labia pierced pre DS1, had to remove the VCH prior to induction starting as it was very close to where a catheter would need to go if required, (which it was) labia ones stayed in during labour/birth though and still in now 3 yrs later with no issues., never bothered to put the VCH one back in afterwards,
it will be up to the individual care provider, some won't care about them, some will ask for them to be removed.
