GP told me to choose a hospital. Where do I start!!! How do I choose!!

Okay i have a choice of three. I may go and visit them but how do i know which provide the best care?

Oh and i forgot to mention i can not afford private care.

You could have a scour through google and see if you can find any reviews of the maternity units in each of the three hospitals........or if there are any mums you know who live near you, you could ask them where they went and what it was like.

For me it was about what screening was offered - my local hospital didnt offer NT scanning and is a normal hospital but the one further down the road (7 miles) is brand new has a massive consultant unit and offers a lot more in the way of care.

I just considered what I preferred and went from there - lots and lots of luck xxx

The NHS choices website gives you basic stats on choosing NHS hospitals for their maternity facilities. Not sure if you have to register on their website to use this service but looks useful.
