Is coffee ok to drink?

I love coffee in the morning. Esp with a little Coffee-mate french vanilla cream in it. Since I found out I was pregnant last week I have stopped drinking it.
Woke up today with a snow day from kids and my school, so desperately wanting a cup to drink while watching the snow.

Also, are sweetners ok? Like equal, splenda? Or should I just use regular sugar?

Thanks in advance everyone!

One cup a day is ok, good even. I'd personally use the best creamer I could find however, maybe hazelnut milk or almond milk. I don't think coffee-mate makes good quality products. Try stevia for a sweetener, or honey, or even just a bit of actual sugar. Some of those substitutes have chemicals in them and I don't trust them.

Hi! Caffeine is ok in moderation, I think they say 3 small cups a day max? Sweeteners are never ok IMO I would go for sugar. Contains less of what we don't know anything about, or how it can affect us. Enjoy your coffee

Coffee is ok, as long as you keep an eye on your overall caffeine intake. I think the safe limit equates to about 2 cups, but I've always stuck to 1 maximum, just to be on the safe side. Bare in mind that other things, like tea, sodas or chocolate, also have caffeine.

Personally, I'd stay away from sweeteners and stick with sugar. Yes, it has more calories but there are a lot of chemical nasties in artificial sweeteners, some of which have been linked to damaging effects for baby. Diet sodas are also best avoided for that reason.

But I think one cup of coffee with French vanilla cream will be perfectly fine. Enjoy!

Oh and small cups mean those old fashioned little cups, so probably one of the more modern "mugs" a day maximum!

Happy to help I'm the same, never drank coffee during my first pregnancy but have become addicted since, however I haven't been able to stand it until just recently. I now enjoy a cup a day

I have also cut back on sodas and chocolate too. Except yesterday, I just had to have a small glass of pepsi with ice. Other than that, Im trying my best

Your allowed 200mg of caffine a day, which i think equates to 2/3 average mugs instant coffee or tea a day. And think pure sugar is better then sweetners...but dont know what official guidance on that is.
