Wow my nurse was dumb

So I had an appointment with a nurse today to go over family history and all that stuff. She was like "and you used to take...Singi...how do you pronounce that?" Uhh Singulair? Then she asked what that is used for. Then she asked if I've ever been under anesthesia and I said no because my mom and grandma are highly allergic to it, so they put me in twilight sleep. She was like, "TWILIGHT SLEEP WHAT IS THAT?!" So I had to explain it to her. She asked if I've ever had a miscarriage and I said I've had 1 miscarriage and 1 missed miscarriage. Then she said "what's the difference?" I know not everyone is going to know what those things are but seems like a medical professional would!! Sheesh.

Wow. You might want to mention the experience you had to your doctor...sounds like that nurse might need some educating! I would be particularly concerned that I had to explain the differences in types of miscarriages, since this person should be very knowledgeable in pregnancy issues. If this is the nurse you might get when you call your nurse helpline, I would be worried!!

That is ridiculous!! Was she really a nurse? I know sometimes her in the US the people who go over information and such, take vitals etc. are really just medical office techs or something like that-- not a whole lot of training to get that job.
