I'm only 5 weeks at the mo, so i know it's really early. But i have been noticing a lot of foods and drinks i usually like have started to taste disgusting or wierd. Has anyone else noticed this? And will it continue? I'll have to find different favourites!
Tell me about it. I could usually eat pesto for breakfast, lunch and dinner but I had some this lunchtime and I DO NOT want to eat it again in a rush! It tasted awful! Can still taste it in my mouth (despite brushing) and it's making me feel queasy!
I haven't been getting strange cravings or anything, but I do agree some foods taste different than they did before! I had a fruit salad the other day that had both cantaloupe and honeydew in it. Usually I love cantaloupe and am pretty meh on honeydew, but this time it was the exact opposite! The cantaloupe was bland and even a little bitter to me, but the honeydew was like the sweetest thing I have ever put in my mouth!
Fruit in general has become about 10 times more delicious to me than it was before, and I can't stand any more than just a little bit of cheese on my food.
Too much cheese makes me ill too....but I have gone of chicken completely ACK!! Can't stand it and I used to love it! In fact I have kind of gone off food completely lately I'm always starving but everything sounds horrible. I miss food.
That's how my morning sickness always begins. It's a very normal pregnancy symptom and usually goes away after the first trimester. The hormones change your sense of taste and give you superpowers when it comes to smell. Sweet stuff tends to make it worse for some reason, except ice cream doesn't do it to me as bad as other sweets. Most sugary drinks started tasting more like diet to me too. Like the aftertaste artificial sweetener has. I can drink coca cola though and it's good. It just takes lots of experimenting to find the things that work for you. It tends to be different for everyone. You may even find yourself loving foods you hated before.
