worried about missed miscarriage - whats the percentages on this ?

I have an early scan booked on Saturday and i am getting very worried that everything wont be as i hope. I am worried that i have had a missed miscarriage or when they look for my baby there will be nothing there.

does anyone know what the percentages / chances are of this happening. My partner's ex had 2 of these missed miscarriages before their son was born though my partner says she had some pain before they scanned her on each occassionl

i am really worried and hoping that coz i have had no pain, spotting etc that my chances are good. can anyone reassure me ?

I asked my GP this yesterday and she said 1 in 5 miscarriages will be a missed one, but I read somewhere online that they are rare and its only 1%. Im worried about it too hun but you cant really go by symptoms to ascertain whether your having one or not as some people get symptoms right up to after the miscarriage Im just trying to think positive xxx

If you haven't had any spotting or bad cramping try not to worry honey. I know it's so hard but PMA PMA PMA PMA PMA. I too was afraid of this (I think we all are) but it's out of our hands. After your scan you'll feel better and as first tri passes, you'll gain more confidence in your pregnancy. I have......all the best honey.

Masssive hugs.

I had a missed MC the first time I got pregnant. My pregnancy symptoms were actually way worse than they have been with all other pregnancies I've had. The morning sickness was actually so bad I was hospitalized. The pregnancy never even got to the heartbeat stage. Once you see/hear the heartbeat your chances of any type of miscarriage drop down to 2-4%. That percentage includes missed mc, which are way less common than a normal mc.

Best bet is to not stress over something you can't control. It's just going to take all the joy out of the whole pregnancy because there will always be some slight chance of something bad at any stage.

If I can give you any advice it would to not start panicking about this. I made the fatal mistake of letting it consume me, and I now have 4 weeks 'til my 20 week scan and am worried sick, despite having seen bubs and heard his/her hb with MW.
Please don't go the same way as me, as it will worry the he'll out of you. Try to relax and enjoy it x

iv also had a mmc and when i fell pregnant with this one i was totally adament that the same would happen but every pregnancy is different and sadly worrying about it wont stop it happening if its going to thats why you should enjoy it all and embrace it i think half our problem is we know too much! alot of women go through pregnancy and have no idea what hcg is or blighted ovums etc when i had an ectopic i had NOOOOO IDEA About blood monitoring that a missed miscarriage even exists! i thought mc = blood. now we know so much we do nothing but worry!!! i just recently had a scare had some bleeding at 16 weeks and i was petrified but baby is fine cervix is closed and going for my gender scan today!

pregnancy is a rollercoaster try and enjoy it all

my first pregnancy was a mmc, had no idea anything was wrong untill i went for my 12 week scan and things had stopped at about 6 weeks xx

i went on to have a healthy pregnancy and im hoping this one is fine too, its in gods hands and there is no point in worrying hon, try and trust that nature will take its course either way.

xxx
