When will I feel better?

Hello ladies! I have been feeling sick since about week 5. I am constantly nauseous, everything I eat gives me an upset stomach, I am always gagging...I feel awful pretty much all the time. When will I feel better????

It does get better just hang in there. My sickness started to go around 13 weeks and by 16 weeks I felt great. Just try and get as much sleep as you it really does make you feel better.

I think (fingers crossed) that I am starting to feel a little better now, instead of all day sickness i'm now having bouts here and there instead!

While it is different for everyone, for most women it's gone by 16 weeks. There are a few women who remain sick through the whole pregnancy, but that's not the norm. There are ways to ease it though for some women.

--Try keeping something on your stomach constantly. At one point I was eating every hour.. not a lot, just enough to prevent an empty stomach.

--Follow cravings and aversions. If something sounds awful, stay away from it. If anything at all sounds good, go for it. Don't worry about calories and fat and all that right now. Just eat what you feel like you can stomach. I went 3 days once eating nothing but cookies and pringles. Didn't get sick those 3 days though! Some calories are better than no calories.

--If you really get to where you just can't handle it, try 1/2 a tablet of unisom (the regular kind.. active ingredient is doxylamine something) and 25-50mg vitamin B6 before bed. It knocks out the morning sickness for a lot of women and won't hurt the baby at all.

--there are also things your doctor can prescribe to stop it. mine did eventually and it helped a lot.

I am in week 7 and doing ok so far- lots of nausea for the last 3 weeks, but I haven't thrown up yet. However, I am wicked tired, dizzy, lightheaded, and weak- so still pretty non-functional.

My previous pregnancies I had all day sickness starting at week 6, and it was at the worst from weeks 10-14, then it tapered off. With baby #1, I went on promethazine at week 10 until 24 weeks, and with baby #2 I was only sick until 15 weeks but threw up a lot more. They are all different!

I will keep my fingers crossed for you that it goes away soon!
