What does nt mean haha this is still kinda my dating scan I had one at 10+5 and she did quite a bit of measurments then ill still be going for a 20 week scan I rang them to make sure they would still find out everything they need to know what with it being later and they said it should all be fine
They measure the pocket of fluid on the back of the baby's neck and look for a nasal bone, then combine this with results from some blood tests and your age to give you a risk factor for chromosomal abnormalities. I presumed it was standard screening for everyone!

We found out ds sex when I was 16w4d. It was also clear as day!

Yes the NT scan has only a few weeks in which it can be done. I'd def double check and if not maybe seek additional advice.

Yeah you won't get the NT scan if your that far along. They will date the pregnancy but not check the measurement of the skin on the back of the neck etc

They just do a blood test instead not the combined measurements etc

With me my son was in an awkward position at dating scan so they had me go for a blood test at 16 weeks and they worked out my chance of down syndrome from that

I was annoyed at waiting so long to find out I was so worried

I was told my insurance won't cover an nt scan unless I had risk factors associated with chromosomal abnormalities, since I'm only 22 and healthy they said I don't need one. So I don't know that it's standard for everyone.

In the United Kingdom every hospital does the dating scan and NT test for downs syndrome around 12-13 weeks.

If you get your scan late or can't have the NT measurements taken then they do just the blood test. However you have to wait till 16 weeks to have that blood test and it takes 3-4 weeks for the results to come back. Which means if something is wrong you aren't finding out till around 18 weeks.

http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Downs-s...Diagnosis.aspx

This tells you all about it

'You should ideally have antenatal screening for Down's syndrome by the end of your first trimester (13 weeks and six days). Most women are screened between 11 and 13 weeks. However, if necessary, it is possible to have screening up to 20 weeks into your pregnancy (this may involve more blood tests).'

The link goes into more detail
