A threatened miscarriage is what ANY bleeding or spotting before 20 weeks is called. If they find a heartbeat you're generally all sorts of ok. That's what I'm going through right now but I'm also technically due for my period around this time (last period was 10/5/09 as in Oct 5) so I've just been told to rest.
hi hun, i had 4 threatened miscarriages with my son and hes almost 8 now like some one else has said, any amount of bleeding before 20 weeks is called a threatened miscarriage so please try not to worry too much x
I just found this juuuuuust for you and I forgot to copy the link of the source before clicking out. But it was all about early stage ultrasounds and vaginal bleeding/spotting (ie: threatened miscarriage) Anyway it says
"In the presence of uterine bleeding, visualization of a gestational sac, a yolk sac, a fetal pole and fetal heart beat changes the risk of a threatened abortion leading to miscarriage from 50/50 to about 5%."
That made my day. So should you meet those requirements with a fetal heart tone in normal range according to how far along you are? You should be fine Smile and relax. Kick up your feet and watch some Jerry Springer during the day and tell OH he's to do all the cooking, cleaning, and lifting because "Doctor said beano and I have to rest for the next few days. Love you honey!"
