Scan - anyone had high implantation

Hi ladies,

I had my first scan today for this pregnancy today. My previous pregnancy was ectopic so this was to determine whether this was intrauterine or not. The good news is that the embryo implanted in the uterus (phew) but the u/s tech said a few times that it was "aaaaallll the way at the top". Has anyone had that said in an early scan before?

We only saw a sac which she said is fine for the size (0.57cm) and puts me around 5 weeks and a bit. She was very rushed and seemed a hurry to get it over. She said that my dr would get a report but the report wouldn't say much so likely I'll have to be scanned again. In my previous pregnancies this place (local hospital) just booked me for the second scan so I found it strange they didn't do that today... My dr won't have the report for 24hrs and she's all booked up until next week....

I was so put off by the u/s tech's rush that I didn't even ask for EDD...I'm not entirely reassured but I'm pleased it's not ectopic.

Pregnancies usually implant at the fundus, which is the top. Sounds all good, congrats!!

Thanks dan-o. It was just the way she kept saying it that made me wonder...never mentioned in my 2 healthy pregnancies.

At my ultrasound I asked where it had implanted and the tech was unable to tell me?? Very strange... So long as it's in the uterus it doesn't matter at all where the placenta ends up. Even if it covers the cervix, they will simply C section you so don't worry too much about that. On my first little girl, the placenta was low to the front.

Thanks Calcifer. I just hoping my GP calls me when she gets the report today (couldn't get an appointment until after Easter).
