Bring DH to first midwife appointment?

Just wondering if I should have my DH come along for my first appt with the midwife. I will only be 8 weeks and don't think they will be doing an ultrasound yet. Anyone have any experience/advice?

I took mine. He was asked questions so they could fill in his parts of the notes but that could have been done without him too. I guess it is just up to you

My husband never goes. He just does the 20 week scan.

Really they don't do anything that would require them to be there.

I try to bring mine if he's not working. Sometimes he thinks of things to ask that I don't or he remembers what I forgot lol.

Mine came to every single appointment with #1 and #2 and tbh, it drove me nuts! This time he's only coming to the scans... there's really nothing he needs to be there for.

Mine comes to first appointment and scans. He doesn't need to come to the first appointment really but he likes to feel included.

If you're in the U.K., they generally recommend that you do your booking appointment alone. They have to ask some mental health and domestic violence screening questions and they can only do it with you in the room. I know for my booking, I was told I'd need to set up an additional appointment if my husband was there so they could finish my screening another day. Honestly, it's super boring and there's no good reason for them to be there especially if it means lost time at work. There will be so many other things you will want them to take time off for that I'd save it for then.
