Can a UTI cause a misscarriage?

So I am pretty sure I have a uti and im not sure how long ive had it for but I started getting pain where my kidneys are and I am just shy of 4 weeks pregnant. I've managed to book an appointment with the doctors tomorrow to get tested and get antibiotics if I have got one. However I am sat here terrified that this could cause a miscarriage. We've been trying for ages now and I am a nervous wreck anyway so this is just the cherry on top
any thoughts??

You're probably just fine. I've had several UTIs in my first trimesters. I am a GBS carrier, as are many of us, which makes me more prone to them. I don't think I've had a pregnancy where I didn't have a UTI during the first tri - haha. But it's been all good for me. I'll keep you in my thoughts, and I wish you the best of luck with your pregnancy.

I had an asymptomatic UTI for who knows how long - wasn't discovered till I was more than 11 weeks. Try not to worry, babies are tough!

Iím pretty sure I had a uti the minute the test line appeared, they picked up on one first appointment and I had antibiotics, it had come back again at 10 weeks so Iím on antibiotics again. I feel you, itís a real pain!! Iíll be on these antibiotics until this baby is born now it was the same with my ds, for some reason I canít be pregnant without having a constant uti.

You can stop an infection on your skin by washing it out, right? Think about the mechanics of an UTI. UTIs are often controlled by drinking lots of fluids because the fluids flow through like washing your hands. Go ahead and drink a liter or two of water in a go, that usually cures mine!
