Low HCG 1st test.... any positive outcomes ?

Hi there

I know the main thing is that numbers are doubling every 48 hours. At 4 weeks 4 days my result was only 75 which is lower than any of my other pregnancies or miscarriages.

Has anyone had similar low numbers with a positive result so far?

My next bloods are tomorrow and I'm getting really anxious with the wait.

Are you sure of dates? When did you get bfp and what is your cycle length?

There’s a huge range of normal with hcg levels, which you fall within. Especially if you weren’t temping and don’t know exactly when you ovulated, even if you’re off by a day or two it can make your hcg numbers seem lower than they are. When my lab results came in it showed anywhere between 15 and 750 for week 4 as normal.

So try not to worry, you’ll have more info when you get your new bloods tomorrow - as long as they’re doubling the number is pretty much irrelevant!

You could have ovulated later than you thought, implanted later, etc. there is a wide range of normal. Right now all you can do is really wait for ultrasound. Doubling numbers are a good sign so hopefully today youíll see that.

There is definitely a wide range. So long as they double, then itís a good sign. I too am waiting for my results, but probably wonít get them until tomorrow morning. Best of luck!!!

I'm not feeling very hopeful now. My second lot of HCG levels came back tonight and they went from 75 to 129 in 44 hours. So a doubling time of around 56 hours.

The weird thing was my Doctor seemed happy with that and does not want more hcg bloods done and requesting a scan for the 12th March.

I don't know how I'll cope waiting 2 weeks to see if there is an empty sac or a little bean in there.

I think your doubling time is okay, 48-72 hours is normal. My hcg at 4w2d was only 95, and my doc was happy with that and didn’t feel the need to do a second beta.

The waiting for first ultrasound is torture...I’m a week behind you, going for mine March 19! Praying we get to see the little heartbeat!

I agree with WishnandHopn - the increase seems within a normal range to me, and I've read that closer to 72 hours for doubling time is very reasonable at the beginning
