Spotting, heartbeat on home Doppler?

Hey, girls! I have had a round of bleeding and spotting already this pregnancy (at 6 and 7 weeks respectively). I went in at 8 weeks and 4 days for a scan and baby measured right on track and had a perfectly healthy heartbeat of 166! I am 9 weeks and 2 days. Yesterday, I noticed two separate occasions where I had a quick but sharp cramp. It just lasted for a second, but I noticed it twice. This morning, I had brown spotting. It was light brown and mixed with discharge, and wasnít enough to have to wear a panty liner or anything. It was there for a few minutes and then was gone.

Of course now Iím so nervous! I have an at home Doppler that I tried to use. I couldnít find the heartbeat, but I am a bit on the heavier side and I know itís still early so Iím trying not to worry.

I used mine starting at 9 weeks. I'm barely overweight, but my chunk is my abdomen. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I told myself that I would not get upset if I couldn't find itas it's sooo early. I found it maybe half the time. It is really very early and baby is less than an inch crl. Imagine how tiny that heart is and baby may not be positioned "right".

If you are truly worried I think you should call your ob or mw. Have you been diagnosed with sch? It can cause spotting??

Sending love. Can you call your early pregnancy unit? Perhaps they can get you in for another scan ❤

Thanks, girls! I may call my OB tomorrow. I’m thinking it’s hopefully just nothing. The spotting went away as quickly as it came and I’m not having any additional bleeding or cramping, so I’m feeling reassured.

Sorry I should have also added that I bled many times in my last two pregnancies.
Fingers crossed it's just an irritation on your cervix or something.
Can often happen if you've had sex too x

I had spotting in my first three just like you described and even at my dating scan for this one there were clots beside the baby, but I never did bleed them out. Fingers crossed you're just fine. As for the doppler I couldn't pick up my baby's hb until closer to 10 or 11 weeks and it took about 30 minutes of searching!

Thank you! I think it is probably too early on the Doppler. My spotting had stopped but I’ve had some minor cramps and backaches today. I don’t think that’s unusual given that everything is expanding and moving around right now, but I did call my OB. They’re going to have me in on Friday.

I've been trying to find the heartbeat on the doppler since like 8 weeks (I'm now 9 weeks, 5 days), but no luck! I tried yesterday before my dr appointment and nothing, but doctor confirmed a strong heartbeat. So I think we're just some of the unlucky ones that have to wait longer

As for the bleeding, I think it's good you already know you can spot a bit but have everything still be normal. And I also had a round of really sharp pain like you describe, but again everything looks good! I don't think you have anything to worry about!

I remember my doctor using the tiny echo machine until I was 11 weeks. She said that before that it was hard with a Doppler, and it worried the mommies for nothing! I also had bleeding early on, and so far, so good Hang in there mama!
