I know there have been dozens of questions like this in the past, but I need to ask this if only to save my own sanity!
I am currently (or should be anyway) around 8 weeks pregnant. About a week and a half ago I experienced a small amount of bright red blood after going to the loo. I was referred for blood tests, and although they showed my HCG levels rising, the rise was classed as sub-optimal and I was referred for an early scan. We thought we had miscarried at this point, so were very suprised to see a tiny embryo with a visible heartbeat. It turns out I had two egg sacs in my uterus, and one had clearly failed, which may have explained what had happened.
Then, on Saturday morning, so four days ago now, I noticed some brown residue after going to the loo (only when wiping). 4 days later I am still getting brown gooey/stringy discharge, although it's not getting as far as my knickers, but it's there every time I wipe. Yesterday (and sorry if this is TMI but I need to know if anyone else has experienced this) after weeing I happened to look down at the toilet bowl and it looked like there were loads of tiny brown bits of thread like tissue floating around. This has happened twice more since, and I have no idea what it is. I can only think it must be bits of the embryo/placenta?
I feel so angry and cheated. I have already had one miscarriage in November. It's taken us two years to even conceive for the first time, and now when we finally get that far we can't seem to keep the pregnancy going.
Is there any chance this isn't a miscarriage, or should I just accept this and try to move on? We're going for another scan tomorrow, but the thought of being told officially that our baby is dead is killing me
Sweetie, I had the same thing, try not to worry too much and rest. It maybe something to do with your cervix, (This is from personal experience) If you have no pain, try not to panic too much and keep positive! Big hugs darling, keep me updated.... x x
You said that there were two sacs on your U/S? Could this be the second sac passing through? We beleive this is what happened to my SIL as she bled a lot during her pregnancy. I'm no doctor and am only giving my opinion. I hope all is well hun. FX crossed for your bean!
Hey hun while it's brown I wouldn't worry, it's still worth ringing a doctor/midwife and seeing if u can get another scan before ur 12 week scan. I had brown spotting 2 weeks ago and last week they have scanned me twice already and are going to scan me again in 2 weeks just to be sure, so far all is ok- baby is fine. But they can see where the bleed has come from so want me to take it steady so not to make it worse as it was probs from over exertion, so ive been told to take some time off work. So my advice- relax; it's still brown, call the midwife/doctor, and take it easy NO lifting, pushing etc. Im sure ul be fine hun, as the other girls have sed could just be one of the egg sacs? xxx
I too was thinking it might be the failed egg sac, especially if you have not had bad cramps or anything, but don't sit there worrying, ring your midwife/gp/EPU and see if you can have another scan. You need to know sooner rather than later if something is wrong for your own sanity if for nothing else.
I had bleeding and now im getting exactly what you have... EPU said its normal and its just old blood coming out as its got to go somewhere... They said if the brown blood has not gone by next week to give them a call again.. Give them a call and see what they say, they may ask you in for another scan xx
i had almost exactly the same as you have described and am now approaching 18 weeks with bubs on board. it's all so frightening isn't it, this baby lark? but i am sure you and baby will be fine darling. xx
i have bled and spotting for about 2 months since i was 5 weeks pregnant... i had lot of scans, everytime i bled, to make sure the baby is fine... don't worry, if you don't have any unbearable pains & big blood clots out, it should be ok... i've been injected 3 times to strenghten the baby & womb, also to reduce the risk of miscarriage...
