keytones are whats produced when you go on a diet such as atkins or the cambridge diet its a by product thats produced when fat is being broke down in the body. diabetics often have this in their urine. most of the time it just means you either are not eating enough or are dehydrated. just make sure you eat plenty and keep up with ur fluids.
Your body produces keytones when your body is not burning the food you eat but your body fat, I had this last pregnancy early from sickness but i felt ok, and was still piling on weight so not sure why i did!
Just try and follow your midwife's advice and eat some more even if that is little but often.
Yup you will get ketones from not eating enough or not drinking enough. Just try and up your fluids and eat some more. I've had up to 4+ ketones throughout my pregnancy and the twins are still fine so try not to worry. xxx
