Baby should be 7w +3 (actually from MY dates 8 1/2w+ from rough date of last period), the fetal pole only measured 6 weeks+1 and no heartbeat.

The lady said she was so sorry and referred me to the early pregnancy unit at the local hospital. Went straight there, no queue so straight in for an internal scan. Well.....i broke down, panicked, nearly faited them threw up so they sent me home to wait. Tbh my fella was mortified by the state I was in and upset so said we should go home.

STUPID STUPID ME! I should have just had it done, i am so angry at myself, but i was in shock, i was so positive all morning.

The woman performing the internal was awful, so cold, didn't say a word, didn't tell me what to do, just sat there with the probe in her hand and a man in the corner watching, she spoke with a strong accent when she was telling me how to sit so that I could hardly understand her and still didn't know what to do (through tears) but it was probably just the state i was in rather than totally her fault but i mean come on, 3 or 4 words of reassurance was all i needed, she just sat silently and the other man was just embarrassed.

Since rang midwife, she's ringing me back, hopefully getting me in to my local hospital for an internal tomorrow (the one i went to this morning was the nearest to the private scanning place and just recommended by the lady there - NEVER AGAIN!)

I'm 99.99% sure i've had a miscarriage although no real blood yet, just wish i'd had that scan done so i'd know for definate, GRRRR!

Cant you still get the internal??? I am so sorry

My midwife at the local doctors has rang me back, I've got an appointment at the hospital for 9:30am tomorrow morning for the internal (phew, i thought they might tell me tough! that I was stupid and should have had it done today!)

I should be in a whole better frame of mind then now the news has sunk in a bit.

Not hopeful at all, but my other half is a bit, bless him. He rang the hospital and they told him that "sometimes they can't see the heartbeat on an external till 11 weeks" not sure where she got that from, but that was the midwife speaking, so that's convinced my fella now

Ahh well, such is life, a lot worse things happen to those less fortunate than myself. All I keep telling myself to console myself is that I'm young, we have a lot of time to try again when the time is right, as sad as I am to have never met this little baby, she will always be remembered as my 1st special onexxx

External ultrasounds are not usually done until after 10 to 11 weeks, I asked my doctor because when I went in for my first scan they could only see that something was happening, they thought I was 11 weeks because of my last menstral but I was only 5wks 5days, and when they did the internal they saw everything and a HB.

Please dont worry, they should not have done an external on you. Stupid DR!! I am upset for you! Please dont lose hope!

Thank you hunni, wow a whole month behind what you should have been! It's a very odd thing isn't it, I'm being told left right and centre by allsorts of information that it's over, but then I get a bit of hope like this, a real life experience too. My only problem is that there wasn't a heartbeat at 6weeks+1 when the lady said there should have been I have to be honest, the picture wasn't still and it was very blurry, but she's the expert and she was pretty adament.

Maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones like you, it'll feel like some kind of miracle out of the bible if I am though! The lady who was scanning me today looked for ages for a heartbeat but nothing

Flaming private early scans! I would never recommend them to anyone! grr to my fella trying to ease my nightmares by booking me in for one! Such worry, although if the inevitable has happened, then I guess it's better knowing sooner than later.
