Is 8 weeks too late to see a doctor or midwife for the first time?
Iv just rung my doctors to make an appointment with a doctor to tell him Im pregnant. And the lady on the phone said I can go straight to the midwife, and gave me an appointment on the 8th june.
I'll be 8 weeks by then and Im just a bit concerned that that is too far away. With my first two babies (5 and 2 yrs) I have always had to see a Dr first, then he refers me to the midwife later on. Im crap at speaking up for myself, so just agreed to it on the phone!
It just seems a totally different process from my last two pregnancies.
The Dr just made me an appointment with the midwife and didn't do anything else at all apart from have a bit of a chat about her pregnancies (she's had 6 babies!) so it was a bit of a pointless appointment really.
I didn't see the Midwife till I was 14 weeks! (only because I didn't know I was pregnant until then!)
Sorry I did see a doctor 1st in my 7-8th week baby brain cant even remember lool
I didn't have to go though All he did was give me a brown envalope that I had to bring to first MW appointment. The number was on the front so I had to call and make an appointment, but I didnt have to see him as I got this at the fronnt desk I didn't get a confirmation Preg test as I'd already been scaned through A+E lol
