Hair dye - Safe? not safe?

There is soo much contradictory info out there that it's really difficult to make an informed decision!

I really don't want to take unnecessary risks but would also love to be able to keep up with my normal routines ie dying my hair every couple of months

wat do you guys think? Have you? Would you? Or wouldn't you risk it? x

It's ok as long as you do it in a well ventilated room so you dont breathe in the chemicals. There is also a brand in UK (I forget the name) that contains no ammonia, which might be a good idea to use Id also wait till 12 weeks xxx

Hi, I did mine a few days ago but used a root touch up that only needs to be on for 10 mins instead of half an hour, and had all the windows and front door open!!!

Babyworld midwife Nicola Malcolm says, "Modern commercially-produced hair dyes, used in accordance with the instructions, should be perfectly safe during pregnancy although many women decide to wait to dye their hair until after the first 12 weeks of pregnancy." (from the babyworld site)

I am erring on the side of caution but don't wanna look like an aging hippie anymore than I do already!!

you can ideally after 12 weeks but def make sure you do a skin test before even if you have used it before... pregnancy does strange things to your body and can make you more likely to react to the dye (hairdresser lol)
