Working full time

Hi Ladies,
I am 6 weeks pregnant and I am a speech-language pathologist working in the school system. I usually love my job but lately it has been really hard to make myself go to work. I have no desire to be here. I sit in my car in the mornings dreading having to get out and walk into work. Anyone feel this way since becoming pregnant? I just don't have the patience or attitude to get through a whole day dealing with people and students at work. I am really disliking working right now. And I usually love what I do.

Yep - it's pretty hard. Especially first trimester.

im quite lucky because i had a week booked off already so im enjoying that at the moment but i know when i go back on monday it will be a challenge, i hope i dont get really bad sickness whilst at work, i work in a bakery and some of the smells make me heave as it is (esp the cornish or cheese and onion pastys when they are fresh out of the oven) & the nearest loos are up three flights of stairs so i have a feeling the mop bucket will be getting a new use!
im on my feet ALL the time at work, and there is literally no option of sitting down apart from on breaks so i dont know if im going to last the whole way through the pregnancy working, i find it tiring enough without lugging about a huge bump (which btw i cant wait for!! ) BRING ON THE SWOLLEN ANKLES!!!

Ah I remember those days!! I'm not prego now but was like that when I was! First tri, all I could THINK about was the baby... worked seemed so unimportant!! Never wanted to be there! Oh and getting out bed to GO to work... and surviving the day exhausted... I feel for you!! Good thoughts sent your way!!

YES, this is exactly how I feel.... I also work 5am - 1:30pm, which means SUPER early mornings... I honestly have been almost late every day since this tiredness started.... And by the EOD I'm seriously fighting to keep awake at my desk.... I try and nap once I'm home but usually end up sleeping for multiple hours...
I'm hoping closer to 12+ weeks this will have subsided so I can start getting my brain back into work.... I feel like I can't mentally function either....

Yes, it should get better! It did for me... you still feel tired, you just realize you're not as miserable about it though! I have a friend in second tri who's complaining how she's still tired, but she's no longer using the cot in her office to sneak in naps so that must mean its not as bad now!
