very dark brown discharge

Ok since last night, only really on going to the toilet and wiping there's been a very dark, tar like discharge. Started wiv a bit of red blood then went dark. I'm only 5 weeks and 2 days and only know i'm pregnant just over a week and its been the most stressful week of my life. Is this sort of discharge normal or should I be worried xxx

were you having a number one or number 2? When I'm ahem having a number 2 I've noticed spotting too. I actually had a early scan as doc was worried but they saw heartbeat so was ok. am still spotting on and off but always seems to be after usng the loo so maybe its irritating something?

I think its more common than we think!

Hi, sometimes it's normal to spot a little as long as you're not experiencing heavy cramps. Don't worry too much but check with your doctor to ease your mind.

ETA: Early spotting is common.

"Pregnancy hormones cover up a woman's usual hormonal cycle, but variations in those normal cycles still go on. Some women notice bleeding at around the time they would usually have had a period as a result of this 'background' variation in hormonal levels. And occasionally women will experience a cervical erosion (a softening of the cervix), which can cause bleeding in early pregnancy." -babycenter.ca

think you should still check with your doctor especially if it carries on. But put your feet up and chill out and try to go to the toilet only if you really need to so no pushing too hard

Good glad to hear it has stopped! Put your feet up and dont worry about house work or anything just concentrate on you and baby. Ive been doing that since i have found out,my son loves it coz we watch tv and play with his toys but my partner hates it coz he has to cook his own tea lol
