Dating confusion 4 weeks or 5 weeks?!

What do you ladies(or gents) think?

LMP - 9th Sept 2010
BFP - 5th/6th/7th October 2010 - just checking!!
AF Due - 7th October 2010 - no show...

Some sites start counting at start of menstrual cycle on the 9th Sept and some start counting from the 16th Sept??

I know it might seem petty but there are big differences between weeks 4 and 5.

How did you calculate your timing?

I have no idea as I was not charting it - after my miscarriage back in April, myself and DH decided to not worry and go with the flow - so the only thing I have is my LMP (last cycle lasted 29 days)

my ob/gyn office counts by the first day of you last mens. period.

Then when they do the first scan around 10-12 weeks they will double check EDD.

I know when she told me on Monday I was 5 wks 2 days I think I O'd much later and am only about 4 weeks. but on my charts it has June 2 as my EDD. Very confusing.

With my son I know when I O'd and they still went with my LMP... And he was 3 weeks early (according to my calculations) and they think he was only 2 weeks early.

My LMP was Aug 26 if this helps. I am 6 weeks today

If unsure, I would probably go with your LMP which would make you 4 weeks along.

The Doctor went with LMP for me, making me 8 weeks today, however I have a 32 day cycle so I think I'll be 8 weeks on Monday. Will find out for sure either way when i have a scan I suppose! I'd rather think the way I am and not be disappointed that I'm not as far as I think, than follow what the DR said and be gutted!

Thanks for the answers ladies - I went to the doctors this afternoon and she said 4 weeks - although probably 4+5 she said - i've been booked in for an early dating scan on the 28th October in 3 weeks as this is my first pregnancy post miscarriage.

Just gonna forget about it all till then - if I can lol
