What happened at your 1st doc appointment?

... nothing much happened at mine, didn't check BP or anything!! Just filled out maternity exemption cert. and gave me booklets and sent me on my jolly way!! Different from when when I had my daughter!

Same with me. I had a million questions but my gp was just all giddy because I was pregnant. He listened to my belly, regisitered my with the hospital and stabbed me with the flu Jab then sent me on my way.

You'll get your chance at your first MW appointment.

This is why I joined this forum, I had no clue about pregnancy and my gp didn't have the time so joined her, glad I did Don't feel as dumb, worried and on my own now.

Nothing much happened at mine. She told me my estimated due date and got me to book midwife appointment at 8weeks as midwife goes to Dr surgery one day a week. No blood pressure check, no leaflets, no form filling... Guess more will happen at next appointment!

I suppose the midwife does most of the work now then!! I can't wait to hear baby's heart beat and have my first scan. Everything seems so long away!! lol

Boatload of paperwork. Quick discussion of medical history and then a quick exam (BP, quick internal to check position of uterus and then HB check). They can't usually get a HB with the doppler at my first visits though so I never expect to hear it. I usually can't hear by doppler until 12 weeks and my 1st appointments are always around 10 weeks. This time it was 9 weeks.
