Morning Sickness

I thought there might be a whole category for this but, I am not seeing one. I also don't see much mentioned in the 1st trimester.

Is anyone else out there having a hard time with morning sickness? Mine started in the middle of my 5th week and I didn't find out I was pregnant until the end of my 5th week. During my 6th week I had an ultrasound and got to see the babies heart beat . My Doctor gave me a print out about morning sickness and I feel like I have tried a lot of things to ease my sickness, but nothing really works

I should tell you, I am not vomiting. I feel nauseous and like I am going to vomit pretty much all day. I wake up in the middle of the night feeling sick and it's hard to get back to sleep. I keep crackers by the bed and eat them when I wake-up in the middle of the night and in the am, and this helps sometimes. I also have tried ginger (ale, tea) lemon (lemonade), crackers, bread, milk, etc. I try to keep food in my stomach so that I won't get hungry, making the sickness worse, but it's difficult because I have pretty much NO appetite.

Most of my favorite foods don't even appeal to me anymore. The only times I can really eat something substantial is when I have a craving for something. If I wait too long the craving passes and I can't even eat that anymore. I know this is all normal stuff. I ordered the sea-bands online and am considering accupuncture. My Dr. recommended Unisom as well, has anybody tried anything that really works for their morning sickness?

Help!!!

try using real lemons....you can slice them and suck on them or you can also slice them put them in a BIG cup of water squeeze more lemon juice into the water and let sit for awhile... then drink drink! thats what really really helped me. also just smelling the lemons helped, for awhile I carried around a little bottle of lemon juice and just sniffed it LOL
I've also found the chewing really minty gum helps the nausea alot! sadly I have not found a total cure but these things really helped me!

Thanks Anikwyn, I hope you are feeling better, I just responded to your post about breathing probs.

I will try the lemon thing and gum. Ginger tea worked too but my husband makes the kind with real ginger and the taste/smell really turns my stomach these days. I wish I could make myself drink it because the one time I did it did help for a little while. Have you tried the wrist bands?

I keep meaning to go get some! But I never get around to it...I did look up some stuff about acupressure and morning sickness and found a couple ideas. they are more like quick fixes that I use at work but maybe they'll help you more? here's the link that I found most helpful

and I did start to calm down a little...not breathing as fast anymore
