Frightened!!!

Hello all,

We lost our daughter Abigail during full term labour on the 22nd September 2009, and after about 7 months of trying we have just found out that I am about five weeks pregnant!

I am so very happy but more than happy I am frightened.

I want more than anything to take our beautiful baby home and know that I need to calm down and relax as much as I can. Easier said than done!

I feel anxious that this will be taken away from me too. We have had so much loss in our family.

I am the same as you! I am just trying to think ahead and remain upbeat and positive. This is my first pregnancy after 4 years of trying!

Sorry for your loss

It's a scary enough time anyway without your previous loss on your mind. I've heard that it's only the start and we will spend the rest of our lives worrying about our little ones.

I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.

J x

Its not surprising you feel the way you do after your loss. I think anyone who has gone through what you have is naturally going to feel that way. Its worth noting that most pregnancies though do go along uneventfully. There are many people who have had a loss like yours and have gone on successfully to have a baby. I know a friend of a friend that lost her baby at fullterm and went on to have another without issue. I wonder if there is anyone who you could talk to that has had a loss like yours and is pregnant? If it were me, i would probably feel most reassured with chatting to someone who has had a similar experience. Surely the mw could also give you some reassurance considering what you have been through and maybe even the hospital could help?. I really wish you a healthy and happy 9 months.xxxx
