Pineapple?!

Is it ok to eat pineapple!?

Don't know if this is a stupid question but, I've heard that pineapple can be used to try to induce labour! So is it safe to eat it at 11weeks?!

Thanks!

You would have to eat 7 pineapples a day for it to have any affect! Pineapple juice is fine, it's something which is found just under the skin which when taken in HUGE quanities can trigger labour.

It's the pineapple core that contains bromelain.
It softens your cervix and some folks use it during TTC

At 11 weeks there is no chance of this being an issue and even if it was an issue you would need to consume loads of fresh pineapple in one sitting to have the desired effect.

I would not worry about it.

I've heard its in the core, that regular pineapple is fine and that the juice doesn't have the stuff in it all.

I've also heard that the quantities you'd have to eat are so extreme your mouth would be practically bleeding before you could consume the quantity necessary to do anything
