Brownish discharge

Hi Guys,

was just looking for some reassurance, yesterday and today have had brownish end of period type discharge, had an appointment to see Dr last monday but silly car wouldnt start so missed it and cos i was late in telling them the snotty receptionist wouldnt give me another one til next monday, not sure how far on i am as periods been a bit haywire last six months and have been feeling very sick, with odd cravings and very sore boobs..;(. should know better really than to get worked up over this as this is baby number 5 but cant remember whether had this with others or not and am a bit concerned as had pre eclampsia with last one....... any reassurance advice would be greatly appreciated, ty....

How far gone are you? Try not to worry too much, I had this a few days ago and panicked myself silly, I went for an early scan and we saw everything was where it should be and we even got to see the heartbeat. Mine only lasted 3 days and it was a very small amount, touch wood it has stopped now. If you are really worried I would ring back your doctors, with things like this they usually book you in straight away, I can't belive the recpetionist is making you wait until monday.

I bet you felt like knocking that woman out, lol. If you are worried about it hun, go to AnE and bypass the doctors. Its probably nothing, but its better to be safe.

hi Happy,
thats just the thing im not sure how far gone i am as periods have been all over the place last 6 months, i think not sure, my last one was in May!! was goin to the Dr's to try get an appointment for a scan.... just have to wait and see i suppose now and hope the discharge isnt cause for concern

brown is old blood so nothing to be worried about....if you are worried though....get yourself checked out..

I had this at about 6 weeks....... probably just impantation bleeding try not to worry and get to see doc as soon as possible.

Its when its bright red blood that it should give you cause for concern hun but brown blood is old so not normally anything to worry about, perhaps just the last of it leaving your body! But of course always get it checked, glad you have got an appointment although I would just be walking into the surgery and asking for an emergency appointment then tell that snotty receptionist to poke her Monday appointment where the sun dont shine!

Wow your last period was in May! I have started with brown discharge again today, not much only when I wipe

its really starting to worry me now. Even though i've seen the heartbeat i'm panicking.

I had this, as well as a few bouts of bright red bleeding, but the brown discharge lasted about 3 weeks and has now cleared up it seems. Maybe its just a first tri thing with some people, I have had a 12 week scan and also got to hear the heartbeat yesterday so everything seems to be going well so far! Good luck hunny and try not to worry too much, it could be nothing!

I would be concerned and rightly so, I'm not one to panic people but it is true that bleeding in pregnancy is never good!! I had it in my first pregnancies for about 12 weeks on and off and ran back and forth to the hosp. In my 4th pregnancy I ignored it thinking it was ok. I had brown blood and it was only slight and then I went for a scan when after 3 weeks of it I had one tiny red splat of blood. I had had a missed miscarriage!! I will never ignore bleeding again! Get checked out and I would go to A&E if I were you hun since your gp is being silly!!!
