I've been getting really severe cramps in the middle of my abdomen, they feel like bad bad bad period cramps. I'm really worried it might mean something bad, I didn't get any cramps in my first pregnancy. I'm not bleeding or anything but hubby says I should go and get checked out as I could be carrying an ectopic pregnancy?
I'm just really worried do you think it could be this serious or is he just over worried?
I got cramps with my first pregnancy right up to week 8 or more. It's normal if you are having the right type of cramps. Do you feel like mild AF cramps and like a stretching feeling. They shouldn't be painful more like discomfort?
As I said I did got them with my first and on a few occasions thought I was mc but everything was fine. But with this pregnancy (and I'm only 6 weeks) over the last two weeks, probably on 4 occasions I've been having really bad cramps, they actually felt like labour pains, like a stretching, they were so sore I had to pant! They lasted around 30 mins then just stopped.
I don't know maybe the pains are worse second time around because the uterus is scarred or tender from last time, I don't know but thankfully I've had no bleeding so I'm not too worried.
But to put your mind at ease you could speak to your doctor or mw.
I'm 7+0 and I've been having the cramps too. Not like writhe on the floor in pain, but enough to make me uncomfortable. Doc says as long as there is no bleeding its fine, but only you know your body so always do what you think is best. It's probably just our little beans making room and getting comfy. :-)
I had cramps from 4 weeks untill 7-8 weeks sometimes they were awful & I even had backache, I for sure thought it was game over, but they felt very different than my 4 MC's they weren't stabbing sensensations they were AF type & stretchy. As you can see everything is fine with bubs :-). I would still get checked out huny put ur mind at rest xxx congrats & h&h 9 months xxxx lov Caz
A couple of weeks ago, i had two occasions where i was suddenly hit by awful cramps. I had to go straight to bed to lie down because i was so uncomfortable. The first time it happened, i was sick because the pain was so intense. It had me tossing and turning, writhing in pain. I was crying out in pain. It happened two days after that and once again i went to bed and for about 15 mins i was just unbelievably uncomfortable. Anyone i talked to about it said 'cramps are normal in pregnancy.'
That same weekend, i had a bleed and i instantly linked the two together. I was very scared and was dreading the pain coming back.
I had a scan that following Monday and i saw little baby heartbeat! They said all was well and fine with no sign of bleeding.
Thankfully, i've not had the same cramping since - but have had bleeding and clots, which resulted in yet another scan, and everything was fine.
I know its easier said than done, but try not to worry, and if you can, maybe call someone (midwife etc) and tell them you are concerned about how much pain you are in.
Thank you all for your messages i went to the doctor today and he did the usual tummy prodding. He said I'm fine and it's not ectopic and my scar is fine. He said the second time round things stretch and grow quicker this time and not to worry unless the pain gets worse and/or i start bleeding.
